How to play Sudoku

Fill the 9×9 grid so every row, column and 3×3 box contains the digits 1–9 with no repeats.

1. Tap an empty cell to select it, then tap a digit from 1–9 to place it there.
2. Make sure the digit doesn’t already appear in that cell’s row, column, or 3×3 box — that’s the only rule.
3. Start with the digits and regions that are nearly complete; they force obvious placements.
4. Work through the grid logically — every CoinJeeto puzzle can be finished without guessing.
5. Watch your mistake counter: three wrong entries end the puzzle, so place a digit only when you’re sure.
6. Fill the final cell to complete the grid and log your result.

Sudoku tips & strategy

• Scan one number at a time: pick a digit that already appears often and check which boxes still need it — the crossfire of rows and columns often leaves only one legal cell.
• Look for “naked singles”: cells where eight other digits are already excluded, leaving exactly one possibility.
• In each 3×3 box, ask which cells a missing digit could occupy; if only one cell works, place it.
• When stuck, hunt for pairs — two cells in a unit that can only hold the same two digits exclude those digits from every other cell in that unit.
• Never guess. With only 3 mistakes allowed, an unsure entry is a wasted life; re-scan instead.
• Rows, columns and boxes that are one or two digits from complete are free points — clear them first to open up the rest of the grid.
